THIS CUP IS THE NEW COVENANT IN MY BLOOD. THIS DO, AS OFTEN AS YOU DRINK IT, IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME.

Luke 22:20, 1 Corinthians 11:25

It was the night of His betrayal. He knew that the hour was drawing close. He had long waited for this moment with His disciples. There is a sense of anticipation when He took bread, blessed it and broke it, gave it to His disciples and said.
“Take, eat; this is My body.”

Then He took the cup and explained that this was the establishing of a new (and better) covenant in His blood. Strange words that would make sense only hours later.
“Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

This He then committed to them as a sacrament saying,
“This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

At Engage Calvary, that’s exactly what we do. Once a month, we partake of communion corporately remembering Christ’s death, burial and resurrection for the remission of our sins.
