Pastor David Reynolds

Pastor David Reynolds came to Christ in 1988, while in college at Southwest Texas State in San Marcos.  He had a classmate who invited him to a Christian concert.  Mylon LeFevre and his band played for about 45 minutes, and then Mylon started to talk about what God had done in his life.  David realized that he needed a Savior that night, and after several days of wrestling with it, he finally surrendered his life to Jesus.

It was about 6 months later that David started
playing guitar for a Christian band.  It was not long after this time that he met his wife, Heather.  They eventually started another band, and for several years did concerts in Austin and around Texas.  Their heart was to share Christ through the songs they had written and the testimony of what God had done in their lives.

At the end of 1996, while still pursuing a career in Christian music, David’s pastor asked him if he would consider being the worship leader at their church.  Agreeing to do so, David soon realized that God had called him to use his musical abilities to serve Him as a worship leader.

In November of 2001, David went on staff at Calvary Austin as Worship Pastor and Financial Administrator. During the 5 years that he spent on staff at Calvary Austin, he oversaw multiple worship bands, produced and recorded Calvary Austin’s first worship recording, “I Will”, hosted an annual regional worship conference, made several local television appearances with his worship band, served on the Calvary Chapel Outreach Fellowship Worship Advisory Board, and led worship and taught workshops at regional and national worship conferences.

It was also during this time that the idea of becoming a senior pastor began to stir in his heart.  David received “words from the Lord” from different people that confirmed that what he was sensing was more than a notion. Other Calvary pastors were recognizing that God was preparing him for something more than his current role as a worship leader and a staff pastor.

While on vacation in August of 2006, when visiting another Calvary Chapel, David learned of the need for a pastor at Calvary Chapel Aggieland. As David and Heather began to discuss the possibilities of taking over this work, they realized that God was in it.  God began to open the way for the Reynolds’ family to make the move to the College Station area and in November of 2006, David became the senior pastor.

After several years of using a temporary location for services, Calvary Aggieland has found a new home at 903-B Harvey Road and is also going by a new name - Engage Calvary.
