BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND OF THE SON AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT…

Matthew 28: 19

As Jesus commissioned His disciples, He called them to baptize believers in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
When we examine the birth of the church in The Book of Acts, chapter 2, we see that baptism was an important first step of obedience when new converts put their faith in Christ.

At Engage Calvary we believe that baptism is important for three reasons:

Obedience to Christ (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 2:38, 41)
Identification with Him (Matthew 3:13)
Association with His death, burial and resurrection (Romans 6:4)

The obvious question then is, when should an individual be baptized? It is our conviction that all such questions be answered Biblically, and for us, that answer is found in Acts chapter 8.

Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?” Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” — Acts 8:36-37

If you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and have not yet been water baptized, now is the time!
